Essential Labor Requirements In applying the FSC
Essential Labor Requirements, MASTER INDÚSTRIA, COMÉRCIO E REPRESENTAÇÕES LTDA. declares that it takes into account the rights and obligations established by current national legislation, while meeting the objectives of the requirements of this standard;
.Do not hire or use child labor, nor children under the age of 18. Except for those 14 and older, if they are apprentices, provided that it does not interfere with their school schedule and the work is not harmful to their physical and mental health;
.Eliminates all practices analogous to slavery or any other form of illegal labor; Employment relationships are voluntary and based on mutual consent, without the threat of any type of penalty;
.There is no evidence of practices indicative of forced or compulsory labor, such as (physical and/or sexual violence, withholding of wages, including payment of fees, restriction of mobility, retention of documents, etc.);
.Do not permit moral and/or sexual harassment, both among employees at any hierarchical level and between them and their customers, suppliers, and service providers;
.Do not permit the practice or maintenance of discrimination that limits access to employment relationships or denies access based on sex, origin, race, color, physical condition, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, or age, and implement efforts to this end with their customers, suppliers, and service providers;
.Do not allow employees to be disadvantaged, unfairly persecuted, or excluded because of their race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, physical condition, or appearance;
.Respect the rights of employees to engage in lawful activities related to the formation, membership, or assistance of workers’ organizations, or to refrain from doing so, and do not discriminate against or punish employees for exercising these rights;
.Respect free association and the effective right to collective bargaining and differing points of view, valuing frank and open dialogue with unions, trade associations, and employees;
.Always negotiate with legally established workers’ organizations and/or duly selected representatives in good faith, using best efforts to reach a collective bargaining agreement.
